Old Dear Wife
you have bewitched me body and soul, where have my true love come from? Why did you make me rise from my high throne, to put on my armor of war and draw my sword from it's place, to make war with those enemies I thought might have done the deed, but now you stand before me unpuzzled and unshaken, which draw new feeling in me that I am not sure of? (the queen) how now can you speak to me this way? now that I return to you this day well. (the king) yes your return nevertheless seem a mystery to me? (the queen) for if any one else was taken in such a way they would have praise this day. (the king) Oh dear wife do you not know that I love you and that this love can not be taken by any man, do you not see your kingdom and how happy your subjects are, thru they be carefree and they rejoice to see their queen return to her throne. but now I seek only the reason why you have done this dirty deed? (the queen) oh dear husband for love in your heart to true knowledge, I had to know was your heart true to this love? (the king) oh dear wife what is the knowledge to put a end to those enemies life to know what is right or wrong! I now stand to make this decree against you. (the queen) dear husband hold your decree against me! (the King) no wife the righteous must be so, so I say to you, you must leave this home for 40 years and I shall know your face no more? and if you survive the 40 years in the wilderness so to say upon your return, all that was taken shall be given back four scores, now away with you wife! but in the back of the king's mind the right to say, (oh dear wife what has thou done)
