Visit Me Dead
Perhaps you'll visit my grave some day. You might place flowers and sit with my vanishing memory just long enough not to be rude. Maybe you'll remember a good time or a bad time that was all your fault and you'll miss what you had but so cheaply dismissed, or you'll curse your cruelty, the bad time was all your fault. It would be a giggling tearjerker if you recounted some long gone oddity, or poured some cheap coffee, 'Ha ! He hated cheap coffee !' But if we ever acknowledged the animosity you might regret it now. Someone would have to regret it and it couldn't be me, I'd be dead under your feet. And you might still hate me dead as much as you hated me alive, and dead as I may be I may have been angry enough to even be angry now. And it might suit us both just fine. Or maybe I'll be cremated and scattered at sea, it'll be less embarrassing for both of us. 12th July 2018
