Porcelain Figurines
The reason we love movie stars is simple, they're the celluloid glitter of Hollywood, and we place them high on pedestals like porcelain figurines! They are the performers of fantasy, capable of playing any part or portraying any scene. We can cause unknown stars to go supernova, with millions of likes on our computer screens. And we love to post epitaphs for fallen stars, following a lingering trail of internet sparks! Stars are today's wizards and witches, able to fascinate us, acting out our worst nightmares or fulfilling our fondest dreams. We cling to climbing stars on the rise, fueling their ascension with enthusiastic applause! For stars hold a magic sway over our hearts. They whet our appetites for the ecstasy of love while exposing our faults, over and over again. They know us all too well! Adoration is the lifeblood of stars trying to gain enough mass appeal to morph into overnight sensations. Stars entertain our collective hearts as villain or hero, it matters naught, we love them all! (Free Verse) July 9, 2018
