Running Out of Time
The hour glass is turned and fixed immediately at birth Starting the life journey in this worldly realm Seconds constantly flowing Running out of time Young children seem to have no need for the perception of passing time Teenage feels invincible with little concern for it The twenties bring fleeting thoughts of passing time Which are quickly dismissed and replaced by youthful party time Still running out of time The thirties, bring more pondering of how quickly time is passing by Work duties and daily living blur the thoughts of it The forties find a more profound realization of passing time, but would rather believe the current age is the new thirty for its time, than admit to running out of time The fifties and sixties bring a stark realization of the seconds that have past Can no longer run or hide, must accept running out of time The seventies see the hour glass has limited seconds left Living in the moment and hoping for the best The eighties and beyond, reaching a golden milestone Seeing time run out, saying goodbye, and taking a last breath
