July 4th, 2018
There is a tenseness in the air this 4th of July "Has something changed" we ask as we view the world flashing by "Are we still the nation that our forefathers had hoped for?" "Are our enemies of our own making or far away on foreign shores?" The pride that we have cherished for these past two hundred years plus Seems to be tarnished by events and we ask "what's happening to us?"' The issues that divide us as a nation are not insurmountable But we wonder if the politicians at hand are capable of being accountable All great nations of the past have imploded from within Their own worst enemy being greed and the weakness of shallow men Time is of the essence and the future of a great nation is at hand Deep within our core we are more than capable of making a stand Here's hoping that we find the leadership and resolve to answer the cry So in a thousand years from now our descendants may still say HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY
