Robinsons Wimbledon Weekend
Two decades ago this story began Founded by one of the Robinson Clan. The weekend is always the second in July Its the gathering of a unique group of guys. In honour of The Late Arthur L. Heron Who would be swinging his clubs in heaven The trophies grand and tall and bears the names The history of winners engraved to remain They all arrive early in the afternoon A simular scene to National Lampoons It's Wimbledon, Golf and AFL at it's best Three days of endurance put to the test. A quick 9 holes of golf out on the green Will determine the weekends competing teams Men's semi finals back to back Friday night Saturday morning hits off with the golf course in sight. They then venture into the 19th hole Relaxing with large consumptions of alcohol Saturday night the womens finals and AFL The food, tall stories and catch-ups to tell Sunday morning theyre all weary with sore heads As they drag themselves out of their beds With panadol in hand they are back on the course For the final day of Golf feeling a little remorse When the Golf is over and the trophy is claimed Everyone's poor performance the alcohol is blamed It's then back to Wimbledon the mens finals to see A few more drinks and snacks, all happy as can be And thats it!  it's over!  They down the final beers. But its never really over as they'll be back next year. The competition for the Arthur L. Heron Cup Is an honour these guys will never give up It's a magical bond between these guys The feeling is sad as they say goodbye The memories made they will embrace And practice all year for next years 1st place Authors Note:- Kurt requested a poem for me to write With Golf, Wimbledon, AFL and you guys in sight I hope he reads it well and he mentions me I'm the author known as Derani, but nicknamed Dee.
