Obliviously Blinded
It's true.. the girl I really wanted Was someone more than good to me She'd be known for all her kindness To everyone that she would see She'd encourage friends and family Support dreams and fight for cause Be just as beautiful from the inside Never one to focus on others flaws Oh, this world has too much drama At the same time it's starved for love So if together we're both not better If we don't fit like a hand in glove When God's children.. used as pawns Break my heart and make me cry But you're obliviously blinded by "selfies" I think it's time for us to say goodbye You've got to know when love is over It's tough, but alone I'll carry on When lover's souls are not in sync The treasure of intimacy is gone You can't live going through motions I still believe in awe and serendipity So I have hope for kids at the border And out there, there's a "you" for me ~Lyric Man Note: I wanted to make a strong statement about the issue of kids being separated from their parents at the border. I thought I might see if I could shape that in the context of a love relationship altered by this crisis.
