Grave Grace
Understand the caricature To understand the creature Acrimony is the first step to atrophy Sacrilegious or areligious Voracious visions visit the valiant Written words form the tapestry Tattooed across his very flesh Dine with the dead And you'll come out ahead Cull the herd And you'll be heard A spoke on the wheel Is replaced when lost or broken But that wheel keeps turning As if it were never there Sweet, sweet apathy Almost like cancerous telepathy Perhaps peace is truly attained by solitude And solitude is gained by loneliness And loneliness is gained by a lack of friends And a lack of friends is attained by anti-social tendencies And anti-social tendencies develop over time By a steady collapse in the social structure As pieces fall one by one like dominoes Count them like beautiful pieces on your toes In the end, you see, perhaps it's best to give up Accept your lot in life as a leper Never get your hopes up for something better Because even when it seems to improve Your social standing will never move Out of touch, out of time, out of rhyme It's quite bittersweet to be so pessimistic But so optimistic in your pessimism That it truly feels like optimism That by giving up you find peace of mind Instead of agonizing over social scenarios And dreaming of things that shan't transpire To understand the creature You must understand the caricature Atrophy is the first step to amnesty One may find a coin has two sides One represents grace, one represents the grave I was given a two-sided coin But both sides represent the grave So forget any dreams of Russian Roulette Because in the end there shall be one outcome
