What Will the Year 2118 Be Like
The yesteryears seemed easier than today’s tribulations, the baby boomers are now old and mostly fading out. What will be so different about tomorrow’s creation? Will war prevail with Anarchy influence and swayed clout? Mother Nature may perish in pestilence and drought. My great-grandchildren will be consumed by technology that outweighs mankind’s minds and fervor to create. All the gadgets from today will be outdated by methodology, I fear for their future and worry about their unwarranted fate. For we are already treaded on with pitiful wisdom as of late. My daughter has friends in sixth grade that have poor speech, I feel it is because of the texting and computer messaging. Having proper verbal communication is too far out of reach, in one hundred years from now I sense antisocial presaging, children and adults will not understand proper engaging. War may be obsolete or maybe a ground-breaking issue, famine and poverty could be an enigma or in resolution. Hopefully the saving grace will start with me and you if today we try to prevent these dilemmas and find a solution. Global warming could deteriorate the earth from pollution. I can’t say exactly how the world will be in one hundred years. I am hoping in faith that the generations left behind will survive and live in harmony instead of anxieties and terrible fears. I can only pray that the earth will continue to flourish and thrive, instead of dealing with the struggle to stay astute and alive. In 100 Years Poetry Contest Brian Davey May 27, 2018
