A Wounded Heart Resewn
As you read please enjoy the music of David Garrett, and you ladies may enjoy the photos. His looks were so deceiving, a handsome man with a poison-laced kiss, a spider weaving a web to capture prey and I too willing to be consumed. With enticing smile, sexy voice, sense of humor, My fault, my choice was to fall in love with him. There were red flags waving, signs of warning, none of which my stubborn heart would heed. Treacherous heart ignored them all, blind to the risk that it might be broken. Though danger lurked, I fell into his arms, too weak, perhaps too naive to turn away. In silk threads of his web I struggled to break free when unmasked, the spider took his first bite. Love became a dark dungeon without bars. His handsome face became a haunting place, a prison without windows and doors but escape I must, for trust lies covered in dust My heart sang a sad tune like the cry of a loon chanting the chorus, a refrain of love gone wrong Heart, sing me a song of what is no more words written in sand by the fraudulent hand of the one who is now dead to me I'll not wear a shroud so keep singing to me. We deserve a better life and a new start. I stitched my wounded heart where it was torn Such melancholy pain it suffered years ago, but we did not drown from the depth of love's fall because I walked away from threats with no regret. No longer do I cry, lamenting over sad yesterdays I've emptied my pockets of those bitter memories and proudly stand on my own with my heart resewn.
