I Lived In Appanoose
I once lived in an Iowan county called Appanoose. Yes, there were women and babies, called the little Papoose. We drank lemonade, coffee, tea, and some carrot juice Nothing exotic like escargot, or salmon mousse Our lives were so ordinarily simple in Appanoose We ate hot dogs and drank beer, and made our own apple juice We shunned saying words like healthy, glutton-free, and carrot juice We were common salt of the earth people in Appanoose A nice, friendly new farmer came to town, and tried to sell us his great produce But we all had our own gardens, with plenty of vegetables, and a lot of use Our veggies were tasty, and our red strawberries made some fine fruit juice So I am sorry to report that he barely broke even in Appanoose
