I Am a Star
A very common question asked by people everywhere is What is love? I can't say that I'm qualified to answer such a complicated mess of words and feelings And yet still I wonder Is it my fault that he makes me feel like the luckiest girl in the world? Even beyond our pathetic little planet, more like the entire galaxy Where I sit amongst the stars And he tells me that I am a star That I shine as bright as all the millions and millions of stars combined That I am the light of his life Is it really my fault, that he reaches in and pulls me out of the depths of darkness? He then proceeds to jump with me into the deep blue Where we dance with the fishes Smiling for decades and laughing louder than a thousand drumbeats Enveloped only by water and peacefulness Is it my fault that when I talk to him, butterflies seem to flap frantically around my stomach And my cheeks redden with each passing second of being so much as near him I too ask myself, what is love? But how do I determine the difference Between real love And just a high school crush?
