The Hidden Addict
16/04/2018 Through my bloodstream pulsing, Insidious poison runs rampant. I open veins willingly for more, And the hidden addict slams the door. The insurgents are loose and swelling, The castle has been breached. The moat of my memory recedes, As the hidden addicts force proceeds. Violently flowing unchecked they swarm, The gates of my deluded psyche. My archers loose their flaming bows, The hidden addict merely laughs and blows. Defences stretched past breaking point. Parley a peaceful surrender. Body, blood and brain now at the beckon call, Of the hidden addict, who not yet sated wants all. Foreign occupation is now the awful norm, For a once free mind now blind to its fate. Isolated, alone, Regent in the corner cowers, The hidden addict strong, reigns in the tower. Now in submission I acquiesce, To the base desires of my conquerer.. Fearing for the freedom of my spirit and soul, The hidden addict is assuming total control. Kingdom vanquished, Temple now under siege, From a relentless soulless scourge. I willfully work towards manning my last defence, Knowing the hidden addict will take umbrage and offence. The Goddess of my Temple remains unbowed, To the despicable force flowing through me. Calls all inner Dieties by their names, To combat the hidden addict holding domain. Hail Baphomet, Hail Oden, Hail Diana. Treasured Goddess of my soul invokes. Rites read, runes written, resistance at last, The hidden addict responds with a last mighty blast. Inner reserves I knew nothing of, Come flooding through the gates. Battling bravely against a deadly force, The hidden addict thrives on such discord. Herculean strength fills my entire being, Praise to the Goddess and her cohorts. With stubborn persistence I’ll persevere and prevail, The hidden addicts attacks will stutter and fail. The enemy may be retreating for now, Yet the fight for my soul will continue. I willingly waged war against this poisonous assault, The hidden addict will weaken and falter. I wearily regain control of my faculties. My destiny sails on the sea of my choosing. Soft surrender so easy, yet not an option, The hidden addict wants your destruction. The Crown sits proudly on my head once more, Ever vigilant guards on Twenty Four hour watch, Complacency can cost me all I have won, The hidden addict is now defeated and done.
