Enter Poem or Quote (Required)Required For years I've had a special thinking spot, a lonely place where others seldom go; and those who do don't look me in the face, know who I am, or even want to know. Eyes closed, I will myself to drift away, enabling wisps of memories to come and form a picture—good, indifferent, or bad—to leave me feeling glad or glum. Those hidden echoes from a past well-lived, except for those mistakes so many make, remind me that much of our lives consists of our decisions and the risks we take. My echoes may be barely audible at times, but they don't go away; so I must bring them to the forefront, where they bring a dreamy smile or an unsettled sigh. entered in Brian Strand's Premiere Contest 140 on April 12, 2018
