Lookin' For My Plastic Pic One Night In June
Written In Iambic Heptameter utilizing an aabb rhyme scheme throughout the entire six stanza poem. thank you. easyeverett Just sittin' in my touring bus, alone, throughout the day, Then found my little plastic pic so I began to play A few new sheets of music with some tunes I wrote last night And hoped the band would think the music sounded quite alright. The band all gathered 'round me and my special old guitar, As I kept strummin' faster like some rock and rolling star; The band began a-lookin' up the touring buses aisle To where a curvy, lanky blonde flashed wide her "Fox New's" smile. Then kept right on a-walkin' down the middle of the bus Towards me and my guitar, then she sat across from us. I switched to boldy-oldies that I play most every set, And saw her face light up just like a greedy, needy, pet. She had the whitest teeth I'd ever seen inside a smile, I knew I'd keep on strummin' just to keep that smile awhile. I kept on playin' oldies 'till she whispered in my ear; "Let's you and I get out of here and get ourselves a beer." Ok, I said, let's head out to a kick-ass country bar Where music keeps on playin' 'till there ain't no morning star. "Ok," she said, "Sounds like a plan my strummin' country man. But later you and I can nap inside my roomy van!" Together we did finish out the long and rhythmic night, Then parted with a tender kiss below the morning light. Now I've been tryin' ever since to write a little tune That celebrates my plastic pic's excited night in June.
