Kindness
In this day and age when we are so absorbed by all our gadgets beginning with i, I am glad to report kindness is alive and well. Walking home after a foreign holiday late last night in the snow, with cabin case trailing, a doctor going off duty turned her car to take me to my abode. Because it was -5 here when it was 20 there, my younger sister text to ask would I like a fire lit, the morning of my departure from sunny shores. Childless and alone at home on Xmas day with all at work knowing what a hopeless cook I am, a colleague wanted to bring me a cooked dinner. Seeing a picture of my broken down plastic Xmas tree, my cousin far away, a retired lecturer in forestry, arranged to have a real tree delivered to my door. My older sister in Australia, on hearing my rant about the builder who robbed me in broad daylight by overcharging, sent me a cheque for 100 euro to soften the blow. Random acts of kindness mean so much and I am glad Kai got in touch, to give me this opportunity to reveal my humble gratitude to all those who cared enough.
