Who is Your Favorite Poet?

Who is your favorite poet? We all have a favorite poet or even a particular poetic style that we may gravitate towards. For Team PoetrySoup, we like Pablo Neruda, particularly his love and nature subjects. He's merely a personal favorite of ours. But there is no wrong or right answer to individual preferences, so we are really curious,  who is your favorite poet of all time, and why?

Matsuo Bashō Often touted as the greatest master of haiku. It must be nice to be the master of anything.

There's a modern day poet called Thomas W Case. He's a recovery alcoholic like myself and his brutally honest style is very refreshing. He's written and continues to write about his past addiction and other stuff from an introspective position. Just be aware, I wouldn't label his poetry as "Christian" but he's often very funny and full of wit. His poems which are free verse are like a byte size story. I have his first book but not yet the second.

ADELAIDE CRAPSEY of AMERICAN cinquain fame with her imagiste 'stresses' form( still written in the 21st century as this site daily confirms) has always been at the centre of my imagist creativity as a poet
