How does a new poetry form become mainstream?

My 'footle'( trochaic singular) was accepted by your goodselves circa 2009 as 'type of poem' & then I promoted it outside PS at various poetry sites on the net & via my blogspot.com profile.Later folk here at PS created the 'footles' sequence' version & like topsy it has grown in acceptance on the net ..literally worldwide.
