Lost

No soul left
The butter tin empty
White bread crumbles
The dust feeds me well.

Tents, and tents
Rows of lost dreams
White picket fence
Gone, and gone.

We know it's too late
A sky of swampy marshes
Rain from the acid
My flag drapes over me, cold.

We are children, grandparents
We are mothers and fathers
We are lost in diamond dirt.

My flag loves me with it's stars
When I die under the bloody stripes
When I am born under its navy Eye.

Hush, the bleak night is awake
Hush, this milk is all I have
Hush, they cannot hear you.

A galaxy of pearls, dancing above
But they are not for you and I.

Im going to be so honest, I enjoyed reading this poem. It had meaning and deep thought. Most poems read on here aren't very fluid, but this one hooked me in immediately. Maybe try and ease into some of the key points more if you want it to sound smoother and less harsh. But overall great work.
