I can not, with clear conscience, follow any institution that exploits the fears of man in order to motivate an individual to a set of values. Inspire him, teach him, but do not strike fear into his heart. All evil stems from fear. Teach a man to fear god, and you teach him to fear himself. There is nothing so dangerous as a man who fears himself.
