Poem
*I once met a gentleman whose life had been radically changed through Christian conversion. In a very short while, he made it clear to me that he was being tormented by his past. His wicked deeds of the past kept confronting him, rendering him helpless. He could not move on in peace and confidence with an absolute assurance of God's forgiveness. In my attempt to reassure him, I told him a story that went like this: I also once had a struggle with the issue of God's forgiveness. To satisfy my troubling soul, I acquired the highest quality and most precise telescope, and through its lens, I observed the far reaches of the human soul seeking to ascertain the whereabouts and the going ons of my 'sins forgiven'. In so doing, I detected a wall and then a door with a sign reading, "Mortal ears not permitted". "Human eyes not allowed". I could see both east and west but could not measure its distance, nor could I locate my 'sin forgiven'. At that point I was very disappointed but not undone. I then secured the best and most sophisticated microscope made by mankind. With it I observed the tinest parts of my soul, seeking to find some simblance of my 'sin forgiven'. I did not find a trace of sin. Still unsatisfied, I decided to navigate the great waters and continue my search. Navigating the seas and oceans, I beheld what seemed to be a massive body of water. It was the Pacific Ocean with a depth of 35,837 ft. As I was passing through the deepest part with all of the water scoping devices one could imagine, I heard God's voice. It was still, kind, and sweet. That gentle and loving voice said to me, "Your sins are so covered, so far gone, so deeply removed, so as never to be seen, heard of, and thought of by me ever again. So in my extensive search, I could only conclude that my sins that had been forgiven were so far and so deep that it was as if they never existed. 12302017PS *Truth expressed through fiction, Inspired by Bible, Psalms 103:12 and Micah 7:19
