My soul trapped, dark and broken
Pain so deep no words could be spoken
Buried within me scars like tokens
A heart dormant is slowly awoken.
A breath taken thru shaky lips
Carefully placing my footing so I don't slip
Happiness leaking but still just a drip
A heart picking up pace this moment I can not skip
Before me I sense a peaceful existence.
Still the dark holds tight, showing its resistence.
Loosens it's grip at my unfailing insistence
Deep I pull air as I strengthen my persistence.
Joyful laughter breaks thru the black
My kids presence send awareness down my back
Praying hard while staying on track
This time not to come up short my efforts wont lack
Moments start passing each one drawing my attention.
Lightly formed smiles instead of the tension
Losing this place was never the intention
Wayward I went apologies were mentioned.
Panic seeping in as fear tries to grab hold
Lingering skeptisms from those times that are old
Outward those lessons now learned are told
A heart once frozen only slightly cold
Doubt makes progress possible but slow
Continue on letting the good in me show
A chance for the impossible swells and grows
This time more wise the purpose I know..
Gradually forward my feet keep going.
Peaceful times brightly showing
Love unconditionally thru me is flowing
My family returns the future is glowing.
Soon I will breathe deeply without a catch in this chest
The bad will still visit but will leave upon my request
For in this life finally there is beauty this I attest
I'm letting go of the pain putting it silently to rest.
The futures allure is throbbing within
Simply a partner perhaps just a friend
A chance of a future hope ushers back in
Loudly I whisper an answer to his quiet shout
Why live in limbo full of self doubt
Happy endings are reachable if you let your heart out
Journeys and chances are what dreams are about.
This ending to a life well lived will not go without tears
Journeys are full of trials and fears
Alone never again thru the rest of my years
Burning within me is the sum of all fears
Love will conquer all demons and lives with in here.
