-Daily Poetry #25, February 22, 2017- Word: Graceful If you are calling this prepared, wouldn’t that be pathetic? For I truly have no idea what I’m doing anymore. Through life and this timeline, I’m stumbling past, Wondering what is next and what is in store. You always moved so gracefully, no matter what you did. Whether it was dancing or simply walking on through, You never missed a beat, you never tripped or fell, And when I see you now, I stutter, I don’t know what to do. I want to know how you dance so sweetly through times, I want to know how you dance so gracefully through pain. I want to know how you dance, how you continue to smile, Even if life has nothing for you to reap, you’ve nothing to gain. So I guess this is how it happened, the clumsy me fell for you, Though I was sure there was no way it would work out, I was positive. Like the signs I draw on paper that are layered with tears once again, I am simply drawing a blank now that I’m sure it’s a definite. Maybe now that I’ve literally fallen in front you here, I know what I’m doing now, because you’re here. How pathetic is that, suddenly I know how to speak right? But it’s true, because when you’re close, I’ve nothing to fear. “In whatever way that you loved before, let me fix that smile, Which was surely broken with the age that it’s endured. I want to turn that dislike to like, I want to be here for you, So please let me help, for me, would you surrender?” How foolish is this, surely it was nothing but sympathy, For someone like me that constantly stumbles through. For someone so flawed like myself, how did this happen? How did someone so unprepared end up with you? “Let me tell you something, I’m truly not prepared, No one knows what the future holds, it’s not a lie. I’m jealous of you for holding up to time for so long, I may seem ready, but on the inside, I just want to cry.” You lifted me up on more steady feet, I feel like I’m ready, So I am your partner in this crazy dance we call life. I pray, That at some point, we’ll both be able to dance on even ground, But for right now, help me dance like this everyday.
