Poem

Tragically enough I had too much to drink that night,
a night of fun and no responsibility in sight,
the freedom of a teenager seemed so wrong yet right,
as we cruised through Detroit so I was filled with such fright.
I had great friends but they were as crazy as a cliché-
They dared to take off my bra-
flaunt my bare chest through the moon roof and say:

“WHOO HOOO! I’M A LOSER AND LOVE LIONEL RICHIE,
HIS SONGS MAKE ME POOP FROM EXCITEMENT!”

I was definitely under indictment-
All of a sudden, my bra flew in the wind,
behind me crashing into the car behind me,
the man in the car was filled with enticement,
and we pulled over so I could give an apology.

           I was topless.
                    He was breathless.
              I couldn’t stop this.
                         But nonetheless….

We went on a date the very next night,
knowing he saw me in my birthday suit,
I wore a dress probably too darn tight-
he then decided that I was a good pursuit....
Oh, what a hoot!
Best friends we soon became,
and that moon roof was to blame!

Six years later wedding bells rang,
at the reception, Lionel Richie I sang,
I was braless under the white gown I wore,
but that was nothing he hadn’t seen before!
