Poem
Our family and Dragon went to the Mall, not so long ago, in fact just this week. Looking for some Christmas gifts, on Black Friday, to put beneath the tree. Suddenly before him, in a Winter Fairy Land, Dragon saw his dearest friend… Yes, with a Ho! Ho! Ho! So neat, Santa sat upon his throne, so very complete. Now, of course, we wanted that darn picture taken, upon Dear Old Santa’s lap. Last year, didn’t go so well; so we were ready, with Dragon held, firmly in hand. This year, we were determined not to accidentally, break the cute little Elves leg! With what had been a minor trip, over our Dragon’s perfect little tail. No Way! Santa looked up suddenly, as his eyes got really big, I heard him say a prayer! Yes, we’d gotten in line, again this year, but we’ll be good, I solemnly swear! This year, I promise he won’t squish you Santa, I yelled out, across the crowd! But the ’Break’ sign, had already gone up, as he slid off his throne. By gosh! The Jingle Bells on his robe, had kept him from slipping away, totally unseen. In fact, the sound made us look, behind Frosty the Snowman’s, fine physique. Santa Claus was opening a floor trap door, but don’t worry, esteemed friends. We were ready, you see! For we have Basement Trolls at hand, to deliver him... Back kicking and screaming, with so much, Ummm, JOY! I do say, of course! For truly, Santa knows we can’t disappoint, not even one girl, Dragon, or boy! When Dragon’s turn was about there, we spread fire extinguishers everywhere. Wrapped up as ordinary presents and toys, of course, to calm Dear Santa down. We had Dragon, give Santa his own Toy fire extinguisher, to hold, in his hands! It was so cute, and handy, too, as Dragon dribbled a little fire, on his pantaloons. This year, Dragon put Only his head on Santa’s’ lap, helping somewhat! You bet! As the paparazzi happily clicked away! Dragon read his list including a new sled. With sleigh bells for Santa Claus, big enough to add a little wee Dragon Claus… Yep, He wanted his Christmas gift, to be a Christmas ride with, you know Who! Before Santa had time to agree, he fainted away, apparently, most blissfully… When Santa woke up we were ready to go, to continue to our next stops to come. Including Cyber Monday, and Giving Tuesday where we’ll cook dinner for all... At the homeless shelter, where all will start trimming the tree and, of course… Santa’s New Sled, though that is a story for another Great News Day! So Merry Christmas to all! And remember to be good… along the way. For both Santa and Dragon, will be visiting together this year, even to you! Written 12-1-2016
