THE NEANDERTHALS

Man came up from Africa 
To escape the oppressive sun
And settled the world all over 
Before they were ever done

In Europe they encountered others 
The witless Neanderthal
Who these strangers no doubt defeated 
And soon were made to fall

And so these poor sad creatures 
Of ugly protruding brow
Dissolved into the ether 
But we really aren’t certain how

Was it from violent warfare 
Or in breeding how it to be
Is that why they are no more 
Why them we no more do see 

Regardless the real reason 
Regardless what it was took place
I'm glad I don't see such others 
About having such a face

It's bad enough to look at others 
Whose features have little appeal
I'm certain if I came upon one of them 
I'd run away fast and squeal

For if they were still around 
And as strong as they be back then
We'd sure be in some trouble 
Don't doubt that at all my friend 

We'd have to run away 
And do so really fast
Because I'm certain in a confrontation 
They'd easily kick our ***
