EVIL IS EVERYWHERE - Poetry Contest Sponsor: Brian Davey Throughout history humans have created cruel punishments, various gruesome ways to put to death a criminal of shame, many times deserved upon the decision of a trials astonishment, for no other punishment will compare to…you know His name. Crowds followed this righteous Man throughout distant lands, He spoke about the truth of life while carrying mercy and love, if we only understand why the pain was taken out on His hands, for only He was sent from the Father Himself from up above. The leaders of Jerusalem had heard rumors about Jesus Christ, a Man preaching forgiveness of sins and sincere redemption, for only He had to be the holy One to pay the awful price, I still face a dilemma of holding no concrete comprehension. The leaders considered His message to the world as a threat, they threw stones and accused Him of committing a crime, cursed and slashed His body with buckles with no regret, but Jesus knew it was just a matter of the God given time. Bloody shields from no mercy given held from hands so cruel, open wounds oozing blood from the sacrifice of the Holy Lamb, Pontius Pilate was the leader who cast the final vicious rule, for all along this just happened to be the Almighty Father’s plan. A disgraceful execution was arriving for the One who saved sin, a sorrow was cast throughout the land for His foretold pain, even though He had foreseen the agony He was about to be in, He showed such strength and His dignity did faithfully remain. Placed roughly was one nail on each hand and one nail on each foot, this was the horrid and reprehensible way of Jerusalem’s jurisdiction, mother Mary was so tormented by her Sons torture she couldn’t look, for I believe the most malevolent and evil act is Jesus’s crucifixion.
