Poem

Now theres a lot of Joeys
in my family tree,
but the one I used to
hang out with was
around the very same
age as me,
I enjoyed his company
immensely because 
he was so funny,
being the first poet
in the entire family,
saying things that
didn't make a lot
of sense, but I couldn't
help but laugh nonetheless,
hearing rhymes like,
"cause I'm the boss
of applesauce,
understand, rubberband?,"
and "peanut butter and
jelly, and a punch in
the belly!"
He probably learned
his rhymes from my
aunt playing the same
tune over and over,
which was "I'm a little
teapot short and stout,
here is my handle,
here is my spout!"
When I think of it
the way he used
to make faces and walk
reminded me of a very
young George Carlin
in a way, walking
around like he was
mimicking someone
who had a problem
with his britches,
always having us
laugh at him and
leaving us in stitches...
Anyhow, sad to say
do not hear from
cousin Joey anymore,
we both grew older
I got married
and moved away,
but I'll always
have fond memories
of my cousin Joey
and how we used
to laugh and play.
