Putting Down The Gloves

Let's put down the gloves
in love and war
I would rather love you
instead of being at war.

So, with love
let's leave war behind
and take each others hand
while love be our guide.

I mean
we can keep the gloves
Putting one on each other hand
I'll take the left
and you can be my power hand

Or we can be versatile
and you can set em up
Allowing me to knock em out again

But really
just give me the gloves
I'll go to war for the both us
Since you are in my corner
I already know we have a winning plan

You can be my Cutman
Keeping my wounds clean
looking good, while being my Queen
But remember you hold an decisive factor
In order for us to win this fight

I promise to bob and weave
to avoid that knockout--right

I only ask if I do take a punch
Please don't throw in the towel
Or call the fight tonight

Because I’ll get back up
before that ten count
I'll take the beating
just tell me it will be alright

So let's put down the gloves
but not to quit this fight
instead to allow God to finish this bout

And once we hear that victory bell
Ding…..Ding….Ding!!!
We can celebrate
that we followed the Master's plan

As I look back
now, I understand
Why He gave me your hand
He knew you would not divert us
just be your own Tapeman

Even though 
we put down the gloves
in love and war
we have to be prepared
for the art of war

Because once we think
we have it right
the devil will try his plan
To steal, kill
and destroy what
God had for us waiting
in the palm of His hand

So, let’s put down the gloves
and start working on His plan
