Only Three Remaining

Only three remaining
Of the Republican elite
That are running fast and furious
For the presidential seat

Trump and Cruz and Kasich
Are the ones who now remain
All the rest at different stops
Have gotten off the speeding train

Still running first is Donald
With Ted in second place
John  hanging by his finger tips
Is far back in the race

People want the Donald
The establishment not much
Digging all the dirt they can 
To keep Teddy boy in touch

There is a magic number
Twelve thirty Seven is the one
If Donald can exceed it
He will ruin all their fun

Supposedly that number
Is the winning one to need
If the Trumpster goes above it
His great ego it will feed

The rules of the convention
Are not carved or set in stone 
May change them just to make the Trump
Go home without the bone

Then when the party blows up
For this underhanded deed
They'll wonder what just happened
Resulting from their crooked creed

They'll blame it on the left
They know it's Clinton's fault
Caused by the secret e-mails
Stored in her basement vault
