Poem
Some distance off a hiking trail, in the middle of nowhere... there once grew the most beautiful and rare flower... part way up a natural rock wall. Nestled in a crack of the rock, it thrived in the sunshine. Some hikers were aware of it and would often stop by, just to soak in the beauty of it. The flower seem to absorb the love from those who came to see it...and would seem to shine brighter. Soon others followed these hikers...who in turn brought others. Some of these would sit and admire the flower...others would throw rocks attempting to hit it... others still would attempt to climb the rock in an attempt to pick it. Others would bring snacks and when done would just leave the garbage behind. In spite of it all the flower kept absorbing the love and energy of appreciation continuing to glow brightly. It wasn't long before the Park Department built a fence to keep people out...in an attempt to preserve the flower. Word soon reached some researchers, who brought equipment out to test the flower, to see what caused the flower to glow when being admired. They built a barricade around to enclose it and cut samples off it...which made it difficult to receive any energy from those kept at a distance who innocently came just to admire it. Slowly the color began to fade...which peeked the interest of the researchers, causing them to dig and probe all the more to find out what made this flower tick. They tried digging it's roots up to study them. This only caused the flower to grow weaker. Many people spoke up in an attempt to save the flower. This only served to make the researchers mad. They now felt justified in removing the plant to take it back to their lab...claiming they would study it in an attempt to duplicate it. Little did they know this was a one of a kind and could never be duplicated. Such a waste! The splendor and beauty of this rare flower will never be enjoyed again. Some things were ment to be left untouched...as their natural beauty is wonder enough. P.R. Deremer
