Poem
A single deep breath is taken a soft sigh released the key in the ignition She could do this at least the drive that took so long before now swept by in a blur she whispers words to calm herself she must be strong for the girls tiny faces swim in the corners of her mind their smiling faces bring her tears she looks up demanding why wanting to give not brave enough to fight something snaps inside her mind saying this just isn't right the front door opens slowly the day has long since gone her husband sits up in his chair he knows that somethings wrong he looks at her in fear the question clear within his eyes with no words to say she nods he embraces her as she cries two little girls walk down the stairs wondering what was happening they see their mommy crying and soon they would join in turning to her children she opens up her arms as they walk into her hug she tells them what is going on "Remember those pretty ribons the pink ones your grandma gave?" One by one the children nod their expressions turning grave "Your grandma was very sick And the doctors tried their best your grandma fought very hard but now she needs to rest" Tears fall down the mothers cheeks her words choked off by her cries as she tried to tell her tiny kids that their grandmother had died the littlest girl ran up the stairs making her mother cry even more but soon she came back down again and gave her mom her little bow the pink ribbon so smooth the one that grandma gave the little girl asked sweetly if she could put it in her grave
