why are we here my friend? 

----(a soft growl came upon the wind of his exhale and he saw his own face, and gave a knowing grin akin to our softening skin) ---- 

why do you ask what you already know; it is clear i await for her smiling hair 

----(then with a tilt of his head he recognized the sour sensation of being misjudged simply by his tail) --- 

i admit to follow your gaze my friend, please oblige me again, it's hard to stand as i swim into the leaning sky 

----(he opened his eyes and closed mine, he closed his eyes and opened mine)----

once upon a time i was astray, and...  

wait. were you a stray, or astray? 

---- (his gaze was level and calm in spite of an unappreciative twitch of a glistening fang)----

there is no such claim to be stray and one is all the same, however I take your inquiry with a grain of sand in our eye of acceptance. anyway, i was astray, i was today's yesterday and tomorrow's now, all was perfectly unclear until a day of confession and we'd met our obsession 

----(he had turned back and continued to stare in thought, by degrees I'd made a note of what we’d shared)---- 

i find myself searching long all day and opposite at night, thick hands sly with stillness while the thin one jerks steady in a timeless seizure. at times it is hard to catch my breath i do the add subtract and divide and still the sum for reason is none and for most cause for massive objection 

----(his head jolted back as if on a panic wire, he sighed and spit out, a rainbow) ----

you do realize you must start over, after all there is one for each day of the year and the one left over is want for love to be nearer…. 

what do you mean? 

you know what I mean; the shell, the whale, the snail, the bee, the fish, the pig, the panda, the chick, there’s us, the elephant, and with all due respect the monkey’s tell tall tale tail, after all she could have been the sun of don Miguel…..I don’t expect this to help but do understand your dilemma is with the elegance of the unicorn, in its silver studded leather bathing suit, sipping coconut wine

she has a hurt in her side center pocket, there’s a salt stained locket with a slide show only she can know, so go slow and move carefully because trust is pains cousin and the uncle of destiny. we know love is intention, to not hurt
