Poem
Coming from relatively poor family man leaves his home and towards Paris steers Living behind his mother who because of separation sheds tears But she knows better life awaits him if he goes but for him she still fears As man embarks on the journey to join royal musketeers He is a lower member but it matters not From his musketeer friends he learns a lot But he is unaware of any plot He is there to protect the king but being lower member there are things he knows not As he is on guard he spots someone trying to steal important but not royal jewels He quickly reaches for his musketeer tools The thief jumps from the window with the jewels Young musketeer fallows him knowing that treasure is worth at least several mules He fallows the thief but there is a trap up ahead Another thief is waiting with a pistol but main character shoots him dead But four more bandits now so angry that they see red The fight is with the rapiers but musketeer wins and fights through the trap to which he is lead But the main thief escapes on a horse The musketeer finds himself at this particular moment without a horse He tries to explain this to the prince but prince shows little remorse Prince’s assistant even suggests main character was part of the plot allowing thief use a horse Prince does not buy that but this argument is heard by people of France None the less main character is invited to royal dance People are to wear masks to that dance At midnight they are to reveal themselves that is the romance Main character wears falcon’s mask The ball starts at dusk Like everybody else at midnight he reveals himself from behind the mask Needing some air later he goes out through back door leaving the mask Couple minute’s later prince of France is found dead Prince in his hand has falcon’s mask and fatal wound on his head Main character is arrested and sentenced to hung until he is dead He escapes with help from his friend but now has a price on his head They join group of pirates and sail through the ocean As former musketeer’s heart is filled with dark emotion In a disagreement with pirate captain he kills the captain in a commotion He now wears falcon mask as a symbol and becomes scourge of the ocean
