quintets Nice phrase, "Worldly pleasures all forsaken." mere words from an humble writer of songs? The Singermans sang, "I surrender all..." to their Savior - humble Righter of wrongs. Drawn to darkest Benin where their heart longs to make Him known as the Light of the World, this couple serves bravely, beyond measure. Barb and Jeff passed on the worlds' chosen pearls choosing to forsake all worldly pleasure then thieves robbed them of their meager treasure. Bandits in Benin left them tied in knots, while back here at home, the mission board blessed on Barb's birthday with godly prayers and thoughts petitioning safety, birthday requests. Meanwhile the Singermans prayed for arrest. Thieves returned their goods, facing a redress; police had caught them later on their way. Jeff shared God with them and his forgiveness. Churches found what happens when people pray for an unknown servant on her birthday. Author's Notes: This is a true account of the International Mission Board's practice of having churches throughout the US, pray for missionaries on their birthdays. The title is taken from Barbara Singerman's new book, Beyond Surrender. She and her husband are career missionaries to the Ayizo people of Benin, West Africa.
