Poem
1) In flickered lamp light I waited in a delusional fog for you to return the firelight flickered encouragement to my wandered waltzing playing out the melodies in ivory and ebony but only the white notes rose to my consciousness and as they did my being rose up and blossomed cresting with pointed lipped smiles of utter certainty in joy! you would come back! you would need so much more of the custard of me the whipped creaminess of my company surely an ice cream addict like you... scuffed shoes wet hair dry mouth I took a sip of the Appletini extended from illusions hand swarmed and swelled and glowed and grew tall and small and from that height and depth I could see all the signs no one else could see it was so clear how very much you loved me how desperately how absolutely YOU WOULD return I knew what no one else did and it did not matter what they told me It is only the passing of time that has pulled up the shades, turned off the electric fire unplugged that very dated lamp and left me with a valley view of you 2) an edited version...would love to know which if either works better for you??? In flickered lamp light I waited in a delicious delusional fog for you to return the firelight flickered encouragement to my wanton wandered waltzing the light playing out the melodies in ivory and ebony but only the white notes rose to my caught up consciousness and as they did my being arched up and blossomed with jagged joy cresting I, with pointed lipped smiles was overcome with utter certainty!...you would come back! I knew you would you would need so much more of the cup cake custard of me the whipped creamy dreaminess of my company surely an ice cream addict like you... with scuffed shoes, wet hair dry mouth would need further quenching from me I took another long deep sip of the Appletini extended from delusion's hand swarmed and swelled and glowed and grew tall and small and from that height and depth I could see all the signs no one else could see! I knew what no one else did and it did not matter what they said to me. It was clear so clear how very much you loved me how desperately how absolutely....YOU WOULD come back to me The passing of time has pulled up the shades turned off the electric fire unplugged that very dated lava lamp of looping green goo that had my sanity entrapped there in leaving me in a bright fresh crisp neon green cup of true tea with a vista valley view of you... Long Gone
