Crumbling beauty
An Acropolis actress
A scar upon her hand
Reminds me of the darkness
Of a far and distant land
A land of dark beauty 
Never meant to age
Trapped inside a rusted cage
Left there to decay

The men they came and went 
But never left a dime
Their duty done, it was
Never considered a crime
And when she became pregnant
Where was Romeo then?
An arrow through his heart 
And a pen within his hand?

But letters he never wrote
And birds fell at his feet
As he walked upon the Seine
Nostradom just a shadow 
Upon his cold dark heart
She sits and waits for someone
Hopeful of him
But is left to be gazed upon 
By inferior men 

She’s just a crumbling beauty
No need for respect
She’ll stand there till the end of time
And disappear speck by speck.
Until all that's left is the dust upon the ground
And then she’ll rise again
And sashay back into town.
