Many are the rivers rushing toward the tide
gouging out the soft spots
washing away the sighs
watch the flotsam twirl to vortex
watch the froth ring wide

Many are the river's rushings
   toward the tide

Deep within the current flows coming from on high
stirring up man's passions
stripping the woodlands pride
purging banks of fool's gold's glitter
in eddies 'long side

It seems for branches waterlogged a nascent dream
that which was rock solid
moves, briskly downstream
not dead, alive and journeying all
few wish to abide

Many are the river's rushings
   toward the tide

Goodbye to mountain, hill and rise, forest green and bright
snapped the bowed, and floated down
between the cliffs to ride
kissing as they touch each drifter
seeking the world wide
