The Unmerciful Servant “26"The servant fell on his knees before him. 'Be patient with me,' he begged, 'and I will pay back everything.' 27The servant's master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go. 28"But when that servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii. He grabbed him and began to choke him. 'Pay back what you owe me!' he demanded.” Matt 18:26-28 NIV The Kingdom of Heaven Is like a king who wants to settle His accounts with his servants, Who owe loans that cripple. When brought before the King, The Unmerciful Servant couldn’t pay. So the King showed him pity; cancelled his debt— Permitted him to go on his way. But when this servant who was shown mercy— The greatest of mercy, sweet Found one of his fellow servants, He demanded his debt settlement to meet. He put his fellow servant Into prison for his debt; Showed him not the mercy That he had been beset. When the King was advised Of the unmerciful servant’s lack of mercy, He imprisoned the servant For his unkind lack of leniency. The moral of this story Is that we are forgiven, So we must in turn forgive In God’s merciful rose garden. God has a garden full of roses, Painted in the color white. He gives us a rose When our forgiveness finds sight. Forgiveness is a gift, The Unmerciful Servant received, But would not pass it on, Because his heart was deceived.
