Poem
Behind the doors I stand Clothed in the aching of my nerves For standing other side Is a man I don't derverve King of Kings is who they call him And do they rightly so Though on the outside appears ordinary Inward dwells a spiritual glow His manner and his speech Is more powerful that you can percieve And you can feel his presence linger Long after he has leaved Now waiting for my cue to go And start my new beginning A voice whispers inside my ear reminding me of all my sinninng Looking in the mirror beside me At this veil laced with shame With a dress as white as purity A False declaration for this dame I have nothing good to offer him Little he gains with me as a wife Is this truly ordained by God Or will he regret it later in life But as the door flings open The organs begins to play Crowds rise to their feet And I try to shake my fears away Raising my head to see my lover Expecting a disapproval glance Instead bewildered in my mind As I see his look of acceptance With each step I take the past fades And the worry casts aside Taking his hand, seeing his face I feel ready to become his bride "Oh my darling" he gently whispers "All along this was my plan For you to leave this world of disorder And to dwell in my promised land For even as you were dark as night And your sins as black as tar You still chose to cling to me Sensing I wouldnt be that far Please my love, put your trust in me As I guide you all your days I'll conquer your foes, heal your pain And from your side I'll never stray" Lifting her heart to her Prince of Peace Wiping the glisten from her eyes A leap of joy jumped in her heart And a love from within began to rise So she stands with a life before her Knowing that it'll more than suffice And now till forever she'll remember The day she became the bride of Christ
