Poem

A Boy I Used to Know. 
Sat looking at the blank computer screen when I saw him slowly 
coming into view, a boy of fifteen looking into a hall mirror like 
it should be able to tell him his future. Wears a blue suit, his first, 
looks so serious like as smile would make him look less manly. 
There is an undulating ocean of years between, us luckily he can’t
 see me; if he could he would be horrified. Smile there is nothing 
I can do or say to ease his burden. I know he is in for a rough ride. 
Leave him to go feed my neighbour’s chicken; he is on holiday.
 Know his chickens’ future too as he runs a big restaurant. When 
I return the boy fades away leaves me with a blank screen and
a tinge of sadness. Wish he hadn’t looked so miserable he will get
 old find his niche and be grumpily content.
