Charon the boatman. what a ghastly old soul
Eternal death for the man with no toll
No Garden of Eden on the other side
Climb in the boat and ride out the tide

He took you across the river Styx
For some it gave eternal bliss
Those who came without a fare
Lost their souls and forever stared

With two pence placed on your eyes
There was no need to say good byes
You were granted to live to eternity
Alive, not dead, immortally

He ferried you to the underworld
From his gnarled hand you were hurled
Into the darkness with a lantern so bright
Only the rich escaped the reapers plight

You stood before the King of the Dead
His name was Hades so they said
He was the God of the Underworld
The son of a titan you were lured
