Poem
Ghost stories are for kids, not a big deal. Well that's what I thought, until it became real. Several years ago I got a chance to go on vacation. But what my friends and I saw was an aberration. My friends aunt came over to here to visit. So we went to her place in Scotland to house sit. I thought it was the greatest thing in my life yet, but that week is something I'll never forget. The place was huge, it was five story flats. We watched her animals, a dog and two cats. It was strange, their was something in the air. Then we started to see things that weren't there. No one said anything, but we were all freaked out. It seemed like practical jokes were played all about. You put a drink down and a second later its on another table. At night we could the neighbors horses grunting in their stable. Lights flickered on and off in the house next to ours. It was odd, their windows had barb wire and metal bars. The nights grew longer and seemed like they took forever. On the third last day we saw somethings we'll never forget ever. We were outside and someone said look up there at the roof. We did and a man was up there walking, then vanished, just poof. We all stayed in a hotel the rest of the week, no one want to go back. The last day we went to get our stuff, and it was already perfectly packed. Our ride came and I said "man weird place and weird neighbors every where." The driver said “the neighbors?” “Yeah in that house.” “No one lives there.” I said “who takes care of the horses?” “There hasn't been horses here in years.” We all looked at each other and in our eyes, there was nothing but our fears. Now I wouldn't believe this story if I heard it coming from you, but you should see the pictures we developed, you'll know its true. ***By Chris Matt for “A creepy haunted house poem” contest
