In another plane of perception
There is a doppelganger of me
Who is disconnected from the hive
And a lifetime of reacting
Where I still my mind
As I focus my intention
And my understanding of boundaries
Is honed almost to perfection

Casting aside our creativity
Over what we cannot change
Placing a value on everything
Judgments and prisons the same
I view this current society
As assimilated as the Borg
Judging itself as only servants
Attaining exactly what we ask for

But there's no judgment in that
What we ask for, we receive
And my infrared laser is attached
Pointing at all that I believe
And if I convert you
Your brain will be quickly wired
As sure as resistance is futile
Soon you will understand my world

Yet I feel a disturbance
Somewhere deep inside of me
Aided by some unseen courage
I look around in horror to see
Then I hear a familiar voice
Telling me not to react
As my blood is turning to ice
In the hive of cold, hard facts

But in a state of repulsion
I rip out all the cords
And begin running for my life
From the blind faith of the Borg
And as I run I hear my voice
That comes from behind the mask
Saying the road to doubt is narrow
And even fewer there are that find this path
