Poem
There are tales that need be told, For stories never die; But tales the story teller tells, Are sweet as apple pie. The tale we tell is of Noah’s ark, That God told him to prepare; The rain would come and blot out life, So it was up to him to care. So he built the ark and coated pitch, So it would be sailing tight, And the animals he loaded in. Were warned not to bite. There were pythons, and rhinocerous, Goats and panda bears; Zebras and the kangaroos, And they were washed to wear. There were crocodiles with crooked smiles, And ants without their pants; There were tigers striped and hyenas hyped, And Girrafes that liked to dance. All the things that he could find, Were loaded on the boat; It was packed so full with animals, The boat could hardly float. The ark became a great big zoo, With all that was on board; And all the animals had to fear, When the mighty lion roared. The deluge poured for forty days, For days were black and cloudy; While the rain kept teeming very fast, And the animals were rowdy. But eventually the flood was over, As storms of life must do; And all the beasts and people there, Saw a rainbow in the blue.
