When you’re a desperate junkie you need to go where…………
                       THIS HAPPENS EVERY ASTRAY

See that crowd gathered down the street?
That’s the place where the nasty and hopeless meet
They congregate but never contemplate what lay ahead
That’s why so many of them be dead

Move about half a block closer and I’ll show you what makes this fun
You see the dude in the yellow, he’s cool, but the other brother’s got a gun
The dude in blue must have screwed the dude and now the brother is bloodiness bound
I know that feeling when you aren’t sure of anything except the gun could be loaded and put 
your ass eternally underground 

See……… these brothers ain’t really about killing people, they just giving a sign
A signal to all others that says “see these blazing eyes, well they saw you step over the line”
And there is most definitely a line, a perimeter, a radius if you will
Come into what they consider their’s too many times, that’s when they come to kill

The west side flies colors of yellow and green
With a bit of red to complete the scene
If you’re from the east side blue is the only color you’ll wear
And you’ll put a twenty-five in your pocket already filled with fear

Now look to the right where those little girls are jumping rope
Well they and their parents are sustained by little yet still hold out hope
Yellow, green, blue and to complete the scene a hint of red
And all to often someone‘s shot goes astray and one of those little girls ends up dead
