Poem
The promise is a cell phone battery dies, or bill not paid, or not in a good reception area. The promise to not fight, shed tears, or silent treatments. The promise of to keep peace, yell, or scream. The way our family or friends, can come between our relationships. The promise of our children, will depend on their selves, and instead come to us for support all the time. The promise not to do something behind each other’s back. The promise that one or both of us want out of the relationship one point in a given time. The promise that one of us dies and hope we wait at the heavenly gate for the other, so we can join God together. The promise, that the dreams we have never come true. Promise that are keepsakes: Love with the whole heart. Cry on a shoulder, when needed. Listen to solve problems at hand. Promise to live, laugh, and love no matter what. Promises to makes each other’s dreams come true no matter what could happen. Promise to stand beside each other no matter what. These are the promises that are challenges that we face. We face day to day. Is there really a real promise never broken? Marriage vows are promises. Is there anyone that, Has kept them scared. Promises, promises, why so many promises? They get broken. They come true but not in the way we want them to. Promises that are keepsakes: the smiles on our faces. The special moments in our families lives. The how many times have I cried on your shoulder? Why, did I cry and then laugh? The problems at hand: that we have had to face. The temptations, but did we really fall for them? Those temptations every day, we always take. Living in the moment is the best way to take. Laughing with the ones who care, and loving them with no despair. The promises that are broken are always replaced with the keepsake promises that we make. Promises we are scared to make, because we are never sure of the future. Never sure what could happen.
