Poem

When I face the mirror.
I notice the eyes first.
They have sincerity.
They have love.
They have fear and they have anger that life has given them.
I see desire in the lips.
It has kissed many, but felt only once the true meaning.
In the hands that are now in fists, I see hatred.
I see the wanting of someone.
I see the way the hands want to grab on to someone.
To have someone care and show love.
The body has a necessity.
For it seems as it wants the hold of someone.
It stands in an awkward position.
It seems as in those hips, dance flows through.
Those hips move along to the beat of life.
I see not many things.
I see only the minor things people ignore.
I want to find that someone that will notice even the imperfections.
In the arm I see scars, someone has inflicted physical pain.
And when you see even deeply, when your ears listen more closely.
You can hear and see the movement of the heart.
For it wants to beat for someone special.
The heart is the one with the pain.
Oh the heart has passed through so much.
But there it is, pulsing quickly, with the strength the heart has gained.
When I look in the mirror.
I see a young girl.
One who is willing to work hard.
Oh when I look in the mirror, I see me.
