Poem
Sweet Delight You whispered nothing but sweet delight Everyday and every night It was always so profound With your voice and sound I loved you with all my heart and will I don’t know how you had that control and skill Your very touch made my shiver inside And the whole world seemed to open wide You had such an amazing way Like a soft and delicate breeze along the bay Everything about you I had to adore It made me want to come back for more and more Your very touch made my body freeze and hold No matter how hot or cold You were magnificently bold It was like a fairy tale being told But something went wrong I was to weak and you were too strong The nights seemed to be darker and long I turned on the light And you were nowhere in sight I ran down the street Hoping to meet But you were far to gone You took my heart and soul I had nothing, not even control I gave you all that I had all I could trust Never did I realize for you it was just lust You never showed an ounce of concern It was the hard way that I had to learn You had power and strife And you allowed it to control your own life I see now you were so filled with greed Always in need Your time will come and you will have shame But remember, you are the only one to blame You will be alone, no one will love you And maybe you’ll realize what you lost and what was true You are my sweet delight And sorrow will find you You can not hide out of sight For as long as the sky is blue And the grass is green I do not wish to be ill or mean You have done nothing but cause pain And I promise you, you will not have glorious gain My love was pure But it was more then you could endure This love has gone, it had to retire And my sweet delight, you are no longer a desire
