What is the stone for, Jacob?
Surely the Lord is in this place,
But I did not realize it!
I saw His stairway in my dream,
This is the Gate of Heaven!
I will set this stone as sacred,
And pour oil on top of it!
It is Bethel, the House of God, 
And the Lord will become my God!

Why these stone tablets, Moses?
I took them up on the mountain,
And the Lord wrote with His finger!
He wrote the Law and commandments,
Which I must teach to the people!
They rebelled and made a molten calf,
And I smashed the tablets in anger!
But the Lord is a forgiving God,
He wrote again on new stone tablets!

What are the stones for, David?
These five smooth stones in my pouch,
Are perfect to use in my sling!
God has trained me to use it,
To defeat the Lion and the Bear!
This giant, Goliath, is no different,
My stone struck him in the forehead!
I dropped him face-first to the ground,
And then I finished him with a sword!

Why do you need so many stones, Solomon?
I am preparing them to build the temple,
For God has made me secure on all fronts!
I am building it to honor the Lord,
As I was instructed by my father, David!
"You will build a temple to honor Me,
And I will fulfill the promise I made!
David will never lack a successor,
To rule over My people Israel!"

Why do judges have a bag of stones?
Different stones to tip the scales,
In the direction that favors us!
So, you will justify what sin condones,
And delight in what the Lord abhors!
Your bag of deceptive weights cheat,
And decisions are wildly inconsistent!
Dishonest gain you have hoarded away,
So, the Lord will throw you far away!

Why a stone with seven eyes, Joshua?
This picture of the saving grace of God,
Introduces God's servant, the Branch!
Messiah will remove sin in a single day,
He will fulfill God's good will!
A foundation stone and cornerstone,
Which the builders have rejected!
He builds His church with living stones,
And promises to regenerate Israel!

Why a stone cut without human hands, Daniel?
In the future, Messiah is the great stone,
That crushes the times of the Gentiles!
The Sovereign Lord is in control of history,
His Messiah will return to destroy His enemies!
The stone of stumbling for unbelieving Israel,
Will cleanse and forgive Israel as a whole!
The Davidic King will establish His kingdom,
And invite the nations to Paradise Regained!
